Three person Imangi Studios and giant corporate media behemoth Disney partnered to release Brave Temple Run a version of Imangi’s popular Temple Run in conjunction with the release of their animated movie debuting June 22nd called Brave.
In the original Temple Run game you play the hero Indiana Jones type escaping from an ancient temple presumably with some treasure as crazy screaming primates chase you. You slide and jump to avoid obstacles and collect coins and hopefully powerups.
The Brave Temple Run version takes place in an older version of Scotland shrouded in fog, mist and plenty of green foliage. Princess Merida, from the movie, plays the heroine. A large black angry bear chases her as she slides and jumps past obstacles like the game play in the first version of Temple Run. Disney and Imangi added a game play mechanic to the Brave Temple Run that dramatically increases the difficulty of the game.
You must shoot targets with arrows as you flee the angry bear. The targets appear in the 2 o’clock and 10 o’clock positions of the character’s eyeline. So not only do you have to train your eyes on the path directly in front of you but you have to split your focus to watch out for the targets as they emerge out of the fog towards you. Check it out for yourself but we think this makes the Brave Temple Run game very hard.
Brave Temple Run costs $0.99 with in app purchases to buy coins in varying amounts. Consumers can play Brave Temple Run on their IPhones, IPads and IPod Touch devices.
