Independent game developer Charilaos Kalogirou also known as “nlogn games” released Pop Corny, an arcade action game for iPhone, IPad and IPod Touch priced at $0.99. You must feed Corny by aiming a heated laser at unpopped corn kernels so he can snatch them with his tongue before time runs out. The kernels swirl around Corny so you must anticipate each kernel’s path to successfully shoot them with the heat laser. It’s a little more difficult than Fruit Ninja. Postudios Developer Diary 4: Unity and Infiltrator

Before Cognition, Phoenix Online cut its teeth on the freeware fangame The Silver Lining, based on the popular Sierra Online series King’s Quest. As a non-commercial game, all work on this game has been volunteer-based and continues currently—we have released four out five episodes so far! For our upcoming fifth Episode, TSL will be making the switch from the Torque engine to the Unity engine, the same one that we’re using for Cognition (as mentioned in the last entry). GraviMaze IPhone Puzzle Game Download
Game Development Studio Hart Dev released GraviMaze, a physics puzzle game for the iOS platform. You tilt your device to slide the ancient hieroglyphic like flat cube around the maze to collect gold coins. So far we have breezed through the initial five levels but have spent 30 minutes trying to solve the sixth level. Gravimaze will initially cost $0.99 and comes with 100 levels. The are working on an IPad version slated to come out later this year.

In GraviMaze, the player rotates the level and uses gravity to navigate through tortuous mazes and escape with as many coins as possible. The game contains a hundred levels sprawling five mayan temples, each with unique visuals and attractive melodies. “GraviMaze can be picked up in seconds, but be prepared to wrack your brains if that’s what you are looking for,” said David Hart, founder of hart[dev].
David explains: “I am a huge fan of puzzle games. I had the idea for GraviMaze a while back but we didn’t start work on it until January 2010. This game is the result of one year’s blood, sweat and tears, and we are really proud with the end result. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we did developing it.”
GraviMaze will be available world-wide in February from Apple’s App Store for iPhone and iPod Touch.

Binary Mill, an Australian game studio released a lite version of their mobile racing game called Mini Motor Racing out now for the iOS platform and coming later this year to Android. Additionally consumers can buy the full version of Mini Motor Racing for $0.99, 50% off its regular retail price of $1.99 for the IPHone and IPod Touch versions and $3.99 for the IPad version. London Based Hutch Games released Smash Cops, an interesting action game for iOS platform priced at $2.99. If you have an iOS device running the 4.2 or later platform your set. You play the game from the perspective someone in a helicopter following a police chase like the infamous O.J. Simpson slow chase in the early 90s. The Smash Cops game player chooses one of two types of controls: push or joypad. The controls take some time to get used to. Pom Pom Games released Monkey Bump, a simple arcade game for $0.99 for the IPhone and IPad. The game player must tap the screen just below the monkey to make him climb the tree while consuming fruit to power his vertical trip. Monkey Bump does offer simple game play. The game play has to get used to tapping the screen at the exact location to get the monkey to “bump” up the tree. We can see how Monkey Bump might get addicting or frustrating depending on your eye hand coordination skills.
