Update – 11.12.2012
We have been playing Angry Birds Stars since its release on last Thursday and have a thought.
Angry Birds Star Wars overall game experience, while fun, unique and entertaining will extract more money from you than previous versions of Angry Birds. We paid $0.99 for which gave us access to two worlds, Tatooine and the Death Star. You have to pay anywhere from $1.99 to $19.99 to access more sections of Angry Birds Star Wars.
Rovio partnered with Lucas Films to bring this game to market. When these kind of partnerships happen money exchanges hands. Generally company A, in this case Rovio, pays company B, Lucas Films for the rights to Star Wars Franchise. Rovio may have paid Lucas Films an upfront licensing fee or they may simply share a percentage of the revenue or a combination of both. Either way Rovio operates as a for profit business so they are going to generate as must revenue and profit as possible.
Angry Birds Star Wars does offer unique game play. For you example can use Luke’s light saber to deflect the Storm Troopers laser blasts into objects to inflict damage. This can prove to be difficult when you send Luke flying through the air with the laser blasts coming at you to destroy the special golden eggs. We wonder if anyone will attempt to clone this game mechanic.
Use the force Bird. Use the force. But don’t forget your light saber.
Two mega franchises of the last forty years, Lucas Films and Rovio have joined forces to release Angry Birds Star Wars, which tells the iconic story of space rebellion using Rovio’s birds & pigs and some physics. (more…)
The Birds are angry in a galaxy far far away. Rovio and Lucas Films will release Angry Birds Star Wars set in a galaxy far far away on November 8th on iOS, Android, Amazon Kindle Fire, Mac, PC, Windows Phone and Windows 8. What’s next? How about “Angry Birds and the Chocolate Factory or “12 Angry Birds” set in a jury deliberation room.
In Angry Birds Star Wars the birds will play the iconic Star Wars characters on the deserts of Tatooine to the depths of the Death Star. Rovio promises “cutting edge” game play. We look forward to seeing what they make of Angry Birds Star Wars.
Rovio, kings the gaming world, released Bad Piggies, a downloadable video game playable on the iOS, Android, PC and Mac platforms. Bad Piggies features the pigs who pissed off the birds in the Angry Birds line of games. According to their web site, Rovio says that this Bad Piggies game will be the first of a whole line of games starring the bird hating pigs as the heroes. (more…)
Rovio, Rovio where at thou? Pigs and Birds in space. NASA involvement. Rovio released Angry Birds Space for multiple platforms – iOS, Android, PC and Mac. Somehow Rovio transported Angry Birds and innocent pigs in space where the birds take their anger issues out on the sweet little pigs. For those of you who haven’t been to space the laws of gravity and physics work differently than on our planet. For example when you fling an Angry bird on earth at first the bird rises towards the target but the Angry Bird’s rate of elevation slows to the point it starts to drop. In Angry Birds Space the Angry Birds will move in a straight line unless something changes it collides with an object like a moon or satellite to change its direction. (more…)
Rovio, with the help of NASA scientist Don Pettit, announced a March 22 launch date for the next chapter in the Angry Birds saga called “Angry Birds Space”. Somehow the pigs and birds have escalated their battle royal to earth’s orbit. The Angry Birds Space game player will have to take the physics of space into consideration when trying to demolish the helpless cute friendly wouldn’t stab you in the back pigs. It looks like Rovio will release Angry Birds Space for iOS, Android, PC and the Mac all on March 22nd.
We have to ask haven’t the birds had enough “so called” revenge?
