Pom Pom Games released Monkey Bump, a simple arcade game for $0.99 for the IPhone and IPad. The game player must tap the screen just below the monkey to make him climb the tree while consuming fruit to power his vertical trip. Monkey Bump does offer simple game play. The game play has to get used to tapping the screen at the exact location to get the monkey to “bump” up the tree. We can see how Monkey Bump might get addicting or frustrating depending on your eye hand coordination skills.

Bears that Fly released their lame iOS Arcade game called Bob The Rock. The opening game play screen looks like a top down view of a short bowling alley or shuffle board game. You flick the white disc from behind a blue line into the six red discs to score points. It looks like you also earn points everytime the red discs collide although its not clear how many points you need to score to advance to the next level. If you play the lite version you will have to figure out away to get around the big ad “encouraging” you to upgrade to the paid version. Half Brick Studios released JetPack Joyride, a fun side scrolling arcade game for free on Apple’s App store. Jetpack JoyRide features the not so clean shaven Barry Steakfries who previously starred in such HalfBrick classics as Age of Zombies and Monster Dash. Barry discovers and evil laboratory containing jetpacks and lined with obstacles like a giant electric barrier which resembles a giant rubber band. Gamers can play Jetpack Joyride on their IPhones, IPod Touches and IPads. Half Brick Studios has yet to confirm the permanence of this price change but it may lower your cholesterol levels. Sebastian Tobler, a Swiss based indie game developer created in one day a free mobile platform game called Imbalanced for the iOS and Android platforms. The game player directs the black character hop from column to column by taping the screen as it scrolls, fairly quickly, from left to right. As Sebastian says this is a super simple but challenging game but it can get boring quickly unless you enjoy playing a game exclusively to hunt for the highest score.
Popcap released new updates of Bejeweled and Bejeweled Blitz for the IPhone and the IPod Touch. The new Bejeweled costs $0.99 while Popcap released Bejeweled Blitz using the freemium model. Consumers get the Blitz mode of Bejeweled, with new graphics and smoother gameplay, entirely for free. Consumers can purchase coins to buy in-game power-ups (‘boosts’), but they don’t have to spend anything at all if the choose and they’ll earn coins simply by playing for free.
