At its heart, Momo’s Quest is a well made 2d platform romp aimed firmly at the pre-school generation. Momo is a squirrel whose owner has been taken away, and Momo is on the trail to find her. Collecting dropped beads along the way, Momo travels through the various levels, finding friends to help along the way.
Game play is incredibly simple, as Momo follows your mouse pointer (transformed into an acorn) left and right, the further away meaning faster travel. A left click makes Momo jump, and that’s it. Easy for anyone to pick up and play, without overcomplicated actions needed or wanted, and a generous collision detection means no tricky pixel perfect jumps are needed.

Wadjet Eye Games has published a quartet of intriguing adventure games already, but their newest title is their most inventive one yet. Emerald City Confidential takes the characters of L. Frank Baum’s classic children’s book, “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz,” and sticks them into a gritty detective drama more appropriate to Gotham City than Emerald City. While Emerald City Confidential is a little too simple and has a few too many glitches, the stellar writing and outstanding illustrations make it an accessible and tantalizing tribute to the glory days of adventure games. I’ve always been a fan of sprite-based RPGs. So, to be honest, 3 Stars of Destiny had a biased advantage over most other games from the start – and, luckily, what I ended up playing didn’t fall too short of my expectations.

Reaxxion from Hot Lava Games (later acquired by MumboJumbo) is one of the better Breakout clones available today. It’s also three years old. In the casual gaming business, where countless throwaway clones of games are forgotten within weeks after they’re released, Reaxxion still manages to be as playable and innovative as it was back in 2006. It doesn’t look or sound spectacular, but if you’re willing to look past the dated audio and visuals, you may very well find yourself addicted to this surprisingly entertaining game.

Faerie Solitaire was an interesting game to play for myself and my children aged 8 yrs and 10 yrs. For an adult the chiming sounds in this game and rewards that are given including the very basic but fun graphics are reminiscent of an arcade machine, but the children will not know this, so they will just have fun based on the fact that the interaction is easy and the game is very simple to learn.

Gazebo’s, boathouses, cellars and porches! These are just some of the scenes in the new SpinTop game, Escape Rosecliff Island. This hidden object game is full of surprises. While there are a lot of similarities to another SpinTop series, Escape Rosecliff Island is still packs a punch for the casual gamer.

The player becomes a castaway on Rosecliff Island after being shipwrecked during a terrible storm. The player must visit different areas all over the island in search of materials that will help them get off the island, like a full gas can or a compass.
