Intreped indie game developer known to some as Cliff Harris released this first public battle video from Gratuitous Space Battles 2, the space strategy game coming out later this year on the PC/OSX/Linux platforms. In the video Cliff Harris narrates the pre-alpha battle effects he built into Gratuitous Space Battles 2. Davin Lengyel, Geoff Lapaire, Andy Hull, the writers of Space Janitors, a funny sci-fi comedy homage to Star Wars announced definitive plans to produce a third season. Space Janitors centers in the lives of two twenty something janitors, Mike and Darby and their friends, who work in dead end jobs on a death star like evil space vessel. One of these two characters’ father may be a rebel leader.
They have launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $30,000 to help complete season. Perks include access to their Janitor Locker which contains producer commentaries, outtakes, unreleased shorts and promo videos, audition tapes, soundtracks, 3d models and sound effects used in the show.

FutureMark Studios released this trailer showcasing game play for their upcoming tower defense game for the PC, IPad and XBLA, Unstoppable Gorg, a homage to the early Sci-Fi films of the 40s and 50s. The Gorg, lead by the Lizard King, attack earth in the classic flying saucers. The tower defense battles take place in orbit around earth as opposed to land based battles. The Unstoppable Gorg game play looks unique. FutureMark Studios plans to release Unstoppable Gorg in early 2012. Price is TBD. (more…)

I signed up for the Ensign project today. I’m now part of the 200 man crew that will be sent as part of the Coalition’s most ambitious endeavor to find a new home for our people to live in. It’s been over a year now since deep space probes sent back intel of what looks to be our best hope of a new solar system capable of supporting life.
