Misfits Attic announced plans to port their funny indie action puzzle pc game called A Virus Named Tom to the Mac and Linus platforms presumably after today but before December 2013. A Virus Named Tom tells the story of….three guesses… a virus named Tom created by an angry eccentric recently relieved of his employment scientist to destroy the city of tomorrow today. You must infect objects like Robot dogs and teleporters as you wreak as much electronic havoc as possible.
You can buy the PC version for $9.99 here. iOS and Android versions may come sometime in 2014.
One of the leading indie game companies Indiepub released Capsized+, an enhanced version of the original sci-fi action adventure Capsized, an indie game industry darling, on the iPad for $2.99. IndiePub plans to release Capsized+ on Android, Mac and PS3 later this year. Indie gamers praised the original Capsized when it first debuted and this “plus” version of Capsized will delight them. Spain based Ivanovich Games released Crazy Bill, a new free ad supported action arcade game employing retro visuals, offering non stop action and features Zombie Celebrity lookalikes who do more than just moan while stumbling around the screen. Imagine if an unknown person somewhere in front of you launches objects like hiking boots, cactus, bowling balls, video game controllers camping tents, couches, vacuums, and assorted paper based items directly at you. You have to identity each object and fling it into the appropriate bin – outdoor vs indoor, red vs blue etc. That’s the general thrust of Sortee, a new action puzzle game out now on the iOS platform. Flow Studio created Sortee.
Sortee offers two modes, Classic will comes with nine free levels and then you pay $0.99 to unlock the remaining 42 levels. Sometimes you have to sort red and blue objects, indoor from outdoor objects, items with no legs vs four legs, office vs game objects. If you can advance far enough you will have to sort from four different kinds of objects like art vs game vs office vs wood objects.
If you send an item into the wrong bin you crack the screen. Do this three times and the game ends. You can destroy certain objects that don’t belong in any of the bins by pinching your finger. The fast game play mode offers game play from random sections of Sortee but if you screw up just once the game ends.
We think Sortee appeals to a wide audience: For parents this could represent a great educational game for their children but anybody who enjoys a fast paced puzzle oriented action game will play Sortee for hours. Sortee offers a unique game play unseen by our team but then again we get lost in the shower, with a GPS!

The game takes place in the year 2312 where all natural resources have dried up. You have to find and collect elements in outer space to create new sources of energy. The game mechanic employs lots of physics.
Obstacles include explosive particles, asteroids and aliens. You will need logic, speed and dexterity to succeed.

Colossal Games and Chillingo Games released Commmando Jack, an iOS game offering a unique combination of first person shooter and tower defense game play for $0.99. You can buy more cash in the game for an addition $0.99.
You must defend the earth from an alien invasion in different geographic locations like Paris, Tokyo, Cairo and good old New York. For each level you place turrets and defenses around your main position. Then you toggle to the first person shooter perspective where you can fire at the aliens as they approach. Within the FPS mode you can toggle between a close up view and longer distance view. The close up view helps improve your accuracy when you shoot the weapon.
